A collection of six polar compositions —
geometry recalled in neon light.
I am an Iranian-born artist working at the intersection of
mathematical geometry and generative motion. My work begins
with a simple observation: polar coordinates — angles and
radii, rather than x and y — describe a world of circles,
spirals, and radiating patterns that the natural world uses
constantly. The sunflower, the spiderweb, the shell: these
are polar drawings.
Polar Memories is a collection of six
works, each drawn with the p5.Polar library — a p5.js
extension that makes it easy to place hexagons, ellipses,
triangles, and polygons around a polar centre. Some works
are still images; some are animated GIFs of the same
composition rotating. All are built from the same library
of primitives.
The title comes from the sense that these are not drawings
of objects, but of sensations — a warm memory of a garden,
a cool memory of a casino, a green memory of a spider
taking a leap. Each work has a story that accompanies it.
On AI tools — where I encountered technical
obstacles, I turned to AI tools for debugging and code
optimization. Every structural, aesthetic, and conceptual
decision remained my own.
